Emily and Max had a vision for their Thompson hotel engagement photos – and they definitely delivered. Chic, stylish, and even more importantly, a personal and meaningful location to compliment their incredible outfits. As Emily & Max embark on their new life as a married couple, they recently bought a home together. Since they were living at the beautiful National, connected to The Thompson Hotel, the combination of style and meaning made it the perfect spot for us to document their engagement season. Plus, it is a place where they share wonderful memories.
Hotel Access for The Thompson Hotel Engagement Photos
Typically, this location is hard to access without paying a fee to the hotel. Many hotels have rules regarding photos taken in the hotel. However, Emily and Max were residents at the time of the session. (They are now home owners after being featured on the TV show, House Hunters).
Because of this, we were able to wander all over the hotel and photograph in all of the wonderfully designed spaces The Thompson Hotel has to offer. We began on the rooftop and then stopped for a few photos in the lounge area on our way out to the streets of downtown Dallas. Next, Emily made a quick outfit change. We moved to the library, which boasted a gorgeous wall of books and had several couches we used for some portraits. Just outside the library, we found we had made our way back to the rooftop again. Nearing the end of the session, it was the perfect time for us to pop out the champagne as well as bring out their furry family member.
I love that Emily and Max were so intentional with how they planned their engagement session. They planned to make it not only unique, but a fun experience for them. When your engagement session feels like a typical date night, that’s when you know you’re doing it right!
