Dana and Jordan’s River Cafe wedding landed on one of those perfect July summer days in Brooklyn. It was bright, warm, and somehow calm in the middle of the city. I’d photographed their session earlier in the spring and it only made me more excited to be with them again. Jordan is a sports photographer himself, and having a fellow photographer as a client is always such a treat. He just gets it! There was an ease to the whole day that made it feel effortlessly true to them.
Every detail for their wedding at The River Cafe was so thoughtfully chosen, from the invitations to the getting-ready suite to Dana’s absolutely stunning dress. Their hotel room had this amazing, oversized private terrace, and we fully took advantage of it – sunlight, space to breathe, and the kind of relaxed energy you hope for in the hours before a ceremony. Later, Dana and Jordan met along the DUMBO waterfront for a casual first look that felt simple and real – no fuss, just the two of them with the city and the river around them.
And The River Café will forever be one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding. The terrace views are unreal, the garden feels like a quiet little oasis tucked into Brooklyn, and the service is truly unmatched. It’s one of those venues that feels instantly romantic without trying. To me, it doesn’t get more iconic (or more dreamy) than that.
I had the hardest time trying to cull down all of the highlights to share in this post!
