TWA Hotel Photo Session
TWA is one of my favorite hotels ever! I include this location in my post on NYC engagement photo locations, but it is an amazing wedding venue too. The hotel looks like it was plucked from the 1960’s, and it practically was. TWA Hotel maintains many of its original mid-century interiors. You can read more about the TWA Hotel’s fascinating history on their website.
My Idea for TWA Hotel Photos
When I pitched my idea for a TWA Hotel photo session to Liz and Chase, I was crossing my fingers they would see my vision and be game for what I had in mind. Luckily, they were up for it, and they absolutely nailed the wardrobe. I always share my best recommendations for what to wear to your engagement session with my clients, but Liz and Chase didn’t need any help. Liz’s dress popped perfectly against the color blocking in the hotel, and Chase wore my favorite GH Bass loafers. Fun fact: these loafers are actually my favorite shoes to wear to weddings, and they absolutely fit the vision for this shoot.
TWA Hotel Photos + a Staycation?
TWA Hotel is great for photos, but it is also an overall a great staycation as well. There is a heated pool here you can watch planes take off that would be really romantic post engagement session. However, you do have to make reservations for the rooftop pool. The view of JFK airport is SO worth it. The sunken lounge in the middle of the hotel is always busy, and the drinks are great. Additionally, my favorite bar is the one inside the vintage airplane in the back of the hotel! With all that TWA has to offer, I can’t recommend it enough for hotels plus a little getaway following your photos. TWA Hotel photos are a great choice for the couple who is into vintage style and wants to turn their engagement session into an experience.
