Pleasantdale Chateau
Pleasantdale Château is one of those North Jersey venues that genuinely feels like a private European estate—grand architecture, manicured gardens, and a sense of “destination” without leaving the NYC metro. From a photography standpoint, you get variety fast: stonework, formal grounds, and elegant interiors that hold up beautifully in any weather. It’s ideal for couples who want a black-tie vibe but still want their day to feel intimate and curated. The flow works especially well when you build in time for portraits around golden hour on the grounds.

757 Eagle Rock Ave, West Orange, NJ 07052
Liberty House
Liberty House is a go-to for couples who want modern style and a clear Manhattan skyline view, without the hassle of a New York City venue. The terrace is the star, especially for ceremony or cocktail hour, and the indoor reception space stays clean and polished. As a NJ wedding photographer, I like how consistently it delivers strong background options, particularly at sunset when the light reflects off the water. It’s ideal if you want your photos to feel unmistakably New York while hosting in New Jersey.
Liberty House starting cost: $225 per person
76 Audrey Zapp Dr, Jersey City, NJ 07305
Battello
Battello is a great choice for couples who want a stylish waterfront venue with a modern feel and big skyline views. It works especially well for intimate or mid-size weddings where the guest experience and food are a major priority. The water-facing side is where the magic happens for portraits, particularly around sunset. If you want your day to feel design-forward and city-inspired, Battello is an easy recommendation.
Battello starting cost: $30,000
502 Washington Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07310
The Ashford Estate
The Ashford Estate is perfect if you want a private, tucked-away property that feels like a full weekend escape. It has distinct spaces for getting ready, ceremony, and reception all on-site, which makes the day feel seamless and gives you a lot of photo variety. I also love it for couples who want a mix of editorial portraits and real, candid moments because the property has quiet spots to step into. It’s especially beautiful in spring and fall.
The Ashford Estate starting cost: $25,000
637 Province Line Rd, Allentown, NJ 08501
Pendry Natirar
Natirar, now anchored by Pendry, is one of the most elevated options in the state for a luxury, hospitality-first wedding. The setting feels calm and private, with estate grounds that photograph beautifully and create a true destination vibe. It’s a great fit for couples who care about the full weekend experience, including accommodations and high-touch service. For photography, it’s strong if you want clean, editorial images with a lot of breathing room in the timeline.
Pendry Natirar starting cost: $10,000
400 Natirar Dr, Peapack, NJ 07977
Park Chateau
Park Château is one of the most in-demand venues in New Jersey for couples who want a French château look with a true luxury finish. The architecture and gardens create instant impact, and the reception spaces are designed for a formal, black-tie feel. From a photographer’s perspective, it is one of the easiest venues to make look high-end because the backgrounds are consistently strong. If your goal is a wedding that feels like Europe without leaving NJ, this is one of the best picks.
Park Chateau starting cost: $30,000
678 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick, NJ 08816
Congress Hall
Congress Hall is one of the most iconic shore wedding venues in New Jersey, and it is built for a full weekend in Cape May. The historic charm, walkable town, and beach setting make it easy to create a guest experience that feels special without overcomplicating logistics. The light here is beautiful, and the photos tend to have that classic coastal look that never feels dated. It’s a great fit for couples who want relaxed elegance rather than a strictly ballroom wedding.
Congress Hall starting cost: $2,500
200 Congress Pl, Cape May, NJ 08204
Renault Winery Resort
Renault Winery is a strong option for couples who want a winery wedding with resort amenities and multiple event spaces. You get a mix of vineyard scenery, open-air backdrops, and a more destination-style feel than many South Jersey venues. It photographs best when you protect time for portraits near sunset, since the light and landscape are a big part of the appeal. It’s a solid choice if you want a romantic setting and an easy weekend flow for guests.
Renault Winery Resort starting cost: $15,000
72 N Bremen Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215
Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club
Eagle Oaks is one of the most sought-after country club venues in New Jersey, and it feels more like an estate than a typical golf club. The glass atrium spaces are a major reason couples book it, since they keep everything bright and elevated even in bad weather. The staff is experienced and the pacing tends to be smooth, which helps the whole day stay on schedule. If you want classic luxury with a lighter, airier look, this is one of the best options.
Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club starting cost: $175 per person
20 Shore Oaks Dr, Farmingdale, NJ 07727
The Park Savoy
Park Savoy is a classic North Jersey luxury venue that delivers a consistently polished experience. The grounds are great for romantic portraits, and the interiors feel timeless for a formal reception. Wedding Venue FAQs
What is the best time to get married in New Jersey?
In New Jersey, the most popular wedding season is late spring and fall, especially May through June and September through October. Fall books up far in advance because the weather is usually more comfortable than midsummer and the light is beautiful for photos. If you want more availability and often better pricing, consider January through March or certain summer Fridays and Sundays, then plan your timeline around heat and humidity.
Where should we host our wedding rehearsal dinner in New Jersey?
Some NJ venues will let you host the rehearsal dinner on-site if the space is available, but many book multiple events in a weekend, so it is not always possible. If you go off-site, I recommend choosing something close to where most guests are staying and picking a vibe that feels like a kickoff, not a second wedding.
Can you recommend a wedding planner?
Yes. I always recommend a planner for NJ weddings, especially if you are hosting a full weekend, working with multiple locations, or aiming for a high-end, design-forward day. Please reach out if you are looking for recommendations!
Can you recommend a New Jersey florist?
Of course! The florists are some of my favorite vendors to work with because they can absolutely transform a space. NJ wedding florists are some of the best, and for that reason I have several I can recommend.
What is the process for getting married in NJ?
New Jersey’s process is straightforward, but there are a few details that catch couples off guard. You apply for your marriage license with the local registrar in the NJ municipality where either of you lives; if neither of you is a NJ resident, you apply where the ceremony will take place. You will need IDs, proof of residency if applicable, your Social Security numbers, a witness (18+), and the $28 application fee. After you apply, there is typically a 72-hour waiting period before the license is issued, and once issued, it is valid for 30 days (remarriage has different timing rules).
Can you photograph our wedding at one of these venues?
I would love to see if I’m available for your desired wedding date. Please get in touch at the contact form at the bottom of this page to inquire about my availability!
