As a Brooklyn city hall wedding photographer, it can almost be overwhelming since there are SO many amazing spots to photograph at in Brooklyn, and all such a short distance from each other. Couples who are having a Brooklyn wedding certainly have no shortage of options for wedding photos. Brooklyn’s DUMBO area is home to the famous Washington Street View, Pebble Beach, the Brooklyn Bridge, and several other photogenic locations. If you are wondering where to take wedding photos in Brooklyn, allow me to walk you through some of the best photo spots in DUMBO. Most of these spots are also covered in my engagement session location guide, along with many others in NYC!
After their Brooklyn city hall wedding, Ben and Yuliya met up with me and explored DUMBO for some portraits and exchanging personal vows and rings; we had the best time together, even making a pit stop for pizza at one point.
Wedding Photos at DUMBO’s Rainbow Wall
For this particular Brooklyn city hall wedding, we decided to start at a lesser known, but incredibly fun DUMBO backdrop – this rainbow wall! Right in the heart of DUMBO, it is a must-do as far as Brooklyn wedding photos go.

Photos in DUMBO Following a Brooklyn City Hall Wedding
Perhaps the most commonly used location for Brooklyn wedding photographers, the Washington street view of the Manhattan Bridge is a popular spot for wedding photographers, influencers, and instagrammers alike! As a Brooklyn wedding photographer, experience has taught me that the best time of day to photograph in DUMBO is early morning. For this Brooklyn wedding, we had to photograph in the evening, so as you can see there are tourists everywhere! This is just part of photographing New York City hall weddings that I have come to accept, but my recommendation is to always aim for a calmer time of day when possible.
Jane’s Carousel Wedding Photos After Your Hall Wedding
Another fun pit stop in DUMBO is Jane’s Carousel. While it was closed at the time, we did enjoy using it as a whimsy backdrop for a few portraits. We decided this was the best time for a pizza break too! We ordered pizza from the famous Grimaldi’s, and Yuliya and Ben had a very Lady and the Tramp moment feeding each other pizza in the street! Yes, the pizza was worth the hype.
Brooklyn Bridge Photos Following City Hall Wedding
While we didn’t venture out on the bridge for this Brooklyn wedding, we did get to capture some amazing views of the bridge along with the Manhattan skyline. As an experienced wedding photographer, I’m all about making this experience as special and memorable as possible. At this spot, Yuliya and Ben read vows to each other and exchanged their rings. These kind of moments are such a beautiful reminder that your wedding day can be anything you want it to be. You can read your wedding vows in front of hundreds of people, in the privacy of your own home, or in the middle of DUMBO. Your wedding day = your call!
